Every piece I made I related it to the movie Trolls. I wanted to make the troll pink, but the color wasn't there so I don't know how this color is going to turn out when it gets fired. Other than that the troll house and yard came out like I wanted it to. The second project was supposed to be the party part and all the trolls were everywhere.The box had little pieces on it but they fell off and I don't know what happened to them.  

Surface Designs Creation

I wanted to add a lot of designs and have my bowl be a bright color. I used all of the techniques mishima, sprigging, slip trailing, sgraffito to complete my unique bowl. On the inside of the bowl I added sprigging by creating a small tree like object, it reminds me of the movie trolls in the forest scene. On the outside I added mishima, slip trailing and sgraffito using the colors red and green. 

Surface Designs

Sgraffito is when you scratch a painted surface and you see a different color underneath.

Mishima is when you insert slip, underglaze, or clay into the main body of the ceramic piece.

Textures

Sprigging: Is a process that you use to design a art ceramic piece of clay and decorate it with seperate individual pieces of molded clay to design your art piece.

Slip trailing: Is a  process that you use to design a art ceramic piece of clay with slip or under glaze in a dispenser that rises when hardens. It can be applied to bone dry clay or bisqueware. 

Impressed texture: Is a method that you can use to add texture to your artwork when the clay is wet to add more detail.

Porcelain

A wide range of ceramic products that have been baked at high temperatures to achieve vitreous, or glassy, qualities such as translucence and porosity. Usually white or off-white, porcelain comes in both glazed and unglazed varieties, with bisque, fired at high temperature, representing the most popular unglazed variety. It's a white vitrified translucent ceramic from China. 

I like porcelain because of the translucent look it has. It looks beautiful and well done because the person really took their time on these creations, especially with the detailed designs. I like how it's made of more or less "translucent ceramic" and  how it's already white. 

                            

Independent Project

I wanted to get more in depth with my creation, but I wanted to start off small & then get bigger and better at my creations. I wanted to see what I was capable of doing before doing a lot of detail. Next time I'll make a better creation with more details.

Coil Pot

It was  supposed to be bigger than this, but it broke at the last minute and I couldn't  add on to it so it's a little coil pot. I could've did better, but it was just hard keeping it all together to be tall.
